While a small state, Connecticut is large on attractions. A wonderful way to enjoy this New England state is to rent a vacation home in any central area and go out during the day to see the sights and have fun. Renting a vacation home is the perfect way to spend a vacation. A vacation home is infinitely more comfortable than a hotel for lots of reasons. Hotel rooms are cramped and leave little to the imagination. They are limited in terms of options, and unlike a vacation home, they don’t have much to offer.
Hotels can be difficult to find parking in and you may be waiting for simple services, such as even getting ice. However, vacation homes can be spacious and convenient with their separate rooms and fully furnished living areas. They are the perfect way to have all the luxuries of home at your fingertips, while still being on vacation. Plus, they also have kitchens that can make life much more easier than being forced to eat out all the time.
Make all your own meals, even BBQ or entertain even while staying in the vacation rental. There is no need to worry about too much noise or who is around you. A vacation rental is a great way to mix in with the locals and enjoy a vacation on your own terms.
While staying in one of the many fabulous vacation rentals, check out Ocean Beach Park, which offers a lot of fun for both families and groups of friends who visit Connecticut together. There is a half-mile long beach and a splash park is available as well for the kids that include carnival ride and mini-golf. What a great way to spend the day! Site see on the beach, lay out in the sun, let the kids play at the splash park and when everyone needs a break, head back to the vacation home for a break, maybe a nap and even a snack before heading out again. It’s a great way to recoup and have plenty of energy for more vacation fun.
Of course while at your vacation rental, you may also want to visit Connecticut’s Farmington Valley. This is also a fun place to go and enjoy all day long. It is beautiful there with the scenic waters and forested lands. There are shops, restaurants, antique venues, galleries and all kinds of things to do and see. Spend all day out and about and if you have too many goodies from all the site seeing, take them easily back to the vacation home for safe keeping before heading out again.
History buffs might enjoy touring the Harriet Beecher Stowe House in Hartford. Tours are available there Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 to 4:30 and on Sundays from 12 noon until 4:30. This is a historic location that is definitely worth visiting. There is also the Argia Mystic Cruises, which is another fun option in Connecticut.
