There are times when vacationers want to experience the United States in a more personal way, a way that is physically beneficial as well as refreshing to the mind and spirit. There is no better way in which to have this experience than on a bicycle, feeling the fresh air and sunshine among the beautiful scenery of the Alexander Valley.
There are many vacation homes available in the Sonoma area, and this is where Alexander Valley is located, just north of Healdsburg. There, one can find many beautiful wineries and vineyards within a brief drive from the convenience of their vacation homes. The pristine city of Cloverdale is nestled there among the hills and vineyards, and this is a great place to begin a bike tour.
Although biking in this area is fine any time of year, it can get a bit warm mid-day during the month of July and into the middle of August. However, even those months are pleasant for biking early in the mornings or late in the afternoons. There are plenty of areas to camp, and there are dozens of charming bed and breakfast inns, as well as the usual hotel and motel offerings in the area. However, returning to one’s vacation home at the end of a strenuous day of biking cannot be beat! The close proximity to all of the Sonoma Valley attractions coupled with the amenities of home make the best of both worlds.
A bike trip through the Alexander Valley will be an unforgettable experience!
